Pipe marking is probably one of the most important labeling projects you can do in your facility. Any pipe or container carrying or holding a dangerous substance must labeled with the pipe contents, potential hazards, and the direction of flow. Depending on where the pipe marker is placed should determine which pipe marking supply to use.
Printing pipe markers on reflective material will help identify pipes in low-light conditions. If the pipes are in a dark area, with absolutely no light, then BoldGlo Phosphorescent Tapes should be used. Having the ability to see pipe markers in minimal or no-light situations is imperative for workers and safety personnel. Knowing what hazards the pipes contain could prevent someone from getting into a dangerous situation.
Often pipes will hold dangerous materials at very hot or very cold temperatures. DuraLabel High Temp Poly Tapes are specifically designed for use in temperatures up to 300º F, while DuraLabel Cold Storage Tapes are used in extremely cold environments as low as -40º F.
DuraLabel Toro is a great sign and label printer to use for creating pipe markers. Because it doesn’t have to connect to a computer, it can be easily taken into areas where pipe markers are needed. It has a fold out keyboard and screen for easy label designing. It prints up to 3 inches per second and in high quality 300dpi.
