A Small Label Printer Makes A BIG Impact

When walking around a warehouse it is possible to see a few places that might need a bit of labeling. I looked online for custom warehouse labeling and saw what it would cost. It was somewhere in the range of way too much. So I went to my local stationary store and bought some specialized label sheets and printed them out in the office on a regular laser printer. I then went back out to the warehouse to put them up. This was all well and fine until I went out to the warehouse a few months later.

The labels I bought were just regular labels and work best on envelopes and folders. They were not meant to be placed on metal racks in a warehouse. Now they were peeling off or had come of completely. Some had been torn by some unknown warehouse activity. Others had become useless as the location they marked had been changed. I also noticed that they were small and difficult to read from more than a few feet away. Not good.

So what to do? Well, unfortunately at the time I did not know about Graphic Products. Now I do and I wish I had the DuraLabel 2000 handheld label printer back then to use in our warehouse. The labels it produces would not have peeled off, fell off, easily been scratched by things rubbing against them and the 2” wide durable strip would have been very easy to see. I also would not have had to spend so much time in the warehouse gathering information on what to print. I could have just done it all on the spot for less than the specialty labels from the store.

The ease of a full keyboard with a label printer built in to a rechargeable portable device is what every warehouse needs. When I went back to the warehouse in six months I could have updated the obsolete signage with the same machine. While I was at it I could have bought a smaller vinyl tape and labeled the office (something that needed to be done) and any other labeling thing I put off because of the hassle and cost.
