FREE Arc Flash Label Guide

Posted in Arc Flash News, Free Offers (Industrial) at 6:21 pm by duralabel

The manufacturer of the DuraLabel is offering a FREE Arc Flash label guide.

Proper labeling of equipment and components in which an arc flash can occur is a critical part of a safety program.

An arc flash is a sudden, high temperature explosion that happens when there is a short circuit in electrical equipment.  The result is a spray of vaporized metal and debris that is explosively expelled from the arc flash.

The web site that offers the free Arc Flash Labeling Guide also includes a blog with excellent information about arc flash, including incident reports that describe arc flash injuries and fatalities.

The purpose of an arc flash label or sign is to provide a warning about the arc flash hazard, and to provide critical information such as the flash protection boundary distance (the closest someone can be to the equipment without proper PPE).

DuraLabel Die-Cut Supplies

Posted in Arc Flash News, Labeling Supplies at 10:50 pm by duralabel

A new page has just come on line that summarizes the die-cut supplies available for the DuraLabel printer.

Die-cut supplies include a variety of different types of labels.

Arc Flash labels warn of danger and provide important information about the extent of that danager.  Two types of die-cut arc flash labels are available.  One has a red DANGER header and the other has an orange WARNING header.  But types of labels are available in three languages, English, Spanish and French.

RTK Labels are available using both the NFPA Diamond and the color bar system.  RTK labels are available in a variety of sizes.  You can use the RTK chemical database software, included with the DuraLabel, or use software such as Microsoft Word to print labels.

Blank rectangular labels, with either a DANGER or NOTICE header are available.   The lower portion of these labels may be printed with whatever text and graphics you need to have on them.

Blank Oval and Round Labels are excellent for labeling bottles or putting logos on hard hats.

New labels are under development for the DuraLabel whenever a need is identified.  When you need a quality label printer, that has the supplies you’ll need, choose the DuraLabel.

DuraLabel Provides Free Pipe Labeling Guide

Posted in Free Offers (Industrial) at 10:08 pm by duralabel

It’s a simple one page guide, but it gives all the information you need to know about pipe labeling. No matter what type of facility you are responsible for… a restaurant, manufacturing, warehouse or retail store, the pipes in your facility need to be properly labeled using a standardized system. For example, if there is an emergency, fire and rescue people will need to easily distinguish between a water pipe and a gas pipe.

Both ASME and ANSI have set standards for labeling pipes. Fortunately they have both set the same standard. The free pipe labeling guide from DuraLabel provides a quick reference to those standards. It shows the label color, required minimum text size, label size, text color and recommended label locations.

You can get a free copy of this pipe marking guide just by requesting it from DuraLabal (use the link above). The guide is available either laminated or unlaminated.

Prices Are Going Up… Or Are They?

Posted in Labeling Supplies at 5:42 pm by duralabel

Wow!  January has been the month during which prices on almost everything seem to be increasing.  Yes, gas prices are down a little, but for industrial labeling the cost of supplies has significantly increased.  We’re talking about the types of labeling machines you won’t find in office supply stores or Home Depot.  The types of machines used to make facility safety labels, pipe markers and RTK labels.

One exception to rising prices are DuraLabel supplies.  The prices for DuraLabel supplies have not changed.  But what has changed is the savings you see when you switch to DuraLabel supplies.  Because others have raised their prices, DuraLabel supplies will now save you 50% vs. supplies for comparable printers.  That means that with DuraLabel supplies you cut your labeling costs in half!

DuraLabel supplies are available for a wide range of labeling applications, including specialized applications. Reflective and glow-in-the-dark tapes are available for labels and signs located in low light or no light spots.  Shrink tubes and wire wraps are available for labeling wires and cables.  Die cut labels are available for right-to-know labeling and making arc flash warning labels.  Plus there is a wide varietyof other labeling materials ranging from blank die-cut ovals to vinyl tapes in over 100 colors.

Check out the DuraLabel 4TTP label printer and DuraLabel supplies.  You’ll be glad you did.

DuraLabel Supplies Have What You Need

Posted in DuraLabel Supplies at 8:32 pm by duralabel

I was looking through the list of DuraLabel supplies this morning and as seems to happen every time I do this, I spotted supplies I had not noticed before… or at least I don’t remember noticing them before.  The link above brings you to a fairly good list of DuraLabel supplies, but even that list is not complete.

For example, what I noticed today that there are polyester tapes.  The DuraLabel has white and yellow polyester tapes available.  Polyester is an excellent material to use in harsh environments because of its good chemical and abrasion resistance.

I also noticed that reflective tapes are available in gold.  I imagine that a gold reflective label would be rather classy looking.

Overall there is a huge variety of DuraLabel supplies available… and more are being developed all the time.  That means that when you purchase the DuraLabel 4TTP, you are getting a label and sign printer that can get the job done.
