OSHA Compliant Labels
Making safety labels that are OSHA compliant is important. A new page on the DuraLabel web site describes the requirement for OSHA Compliant Labels and Signs. OSHA is concerned that the sign itself does not pose a hazard, that standard colors are used, and that signal words such as DANGER and CAUTION are used properly. When it comes to the size of the sign, text size and sign locations, they leave those to the ANSI safety sign code.

Shelf and Aisle Labeling
It’s the last week of the Christmas season and the rush is truly on. The orders are flying out of your warehouse door and FedEx has hired extra handlers to get your packages delivered by Christmas . A key component of gettng those orders out, doing it quickly and accurately, is your warehouse shelf and aisle labeling.
Your regular warehouse staff knows how to find everything from memory. But when you bring in some extra help for the holiday season, are they able to pick just as rapidily and accurately? With good shelf and aisle labeling they should be able to quickly find anything you stock with just 10-15 minutes of training.
Good shelf and aisle labeling means you have labels that have the information pickers need, presented in a format that can be understood quickly and easily. This is where the DuraLabel 4TTP thermal transfer printer can help.
The DuraLabel has a huge selection of supplies available. For example, vinyl tapes are available in over 100 colors. This allows you to color code your labeling so pickers can instantly recognize which section they are in… without taking time to read the label.
Use DuraLabel reflective tapes to make bar code labels that can be scanned from 20 to 30 feet away, using a long distance scanner.
Learn about the many ways the DuraLabel 4TTP can enhance your shelf and aisle labeling.

The Importance of Arc Flash Labeling
The DuraLabel is an outstanding printer for making arc flash warning labels. It produces high quality 300 dpi thermal transfer printing; it comes with custom database software for printing arc flash labels; and it has a variety of arc flash labeling supplies available.
BUT… are you moving ahead with using arc flash labels? The tools are available, are you going to use them? Links to several videos have been posted on the NFPA 70E arc flash web site. The videos show arc flash incidents, with one video showing an arc flash incident that injured three workers. Take a look at these videos. You’ll see how violent and serious arc flash is. There are five, or more, arc flash incidents every day. Do your employees have the information they need to properly protect themselves from arc flash hazards?

New Pipe Grabber Pipe Marking Sleeves
Pipe Grabber Pipe Marking Sleeves from Graphic Products make applying durable pipe markers to dirty, rusty or unlagged insulated piping fast and easy.
Pipe Grabber™ Pipe Marking Sleeves are clear plastic sleeves that fit around pipes. They provide a clean surface allowing labels to be applied to pipes that are covered by insulation or are too dirty, rusty, or otherwise in a condition that does not allow a label to adhere to it.
Pipe Grabbers are made as clear plastic tubes that are pre-formed to curl tightly around a pipe. They can be used in either of two ways. They can be applied to a pipe and then a label can be applied to the sleeve. Or labels can be applied to sleeves in the shop or office. The labeled sleeves are then taken into your facility where they are quickly snapped onto the pipes. This provides the advantage of not having to carry around a label printer, and the label can be applied under comfortable conditions—resulting in fast, high quality application of labels and fewer mistakes.
Pipe Grabber™ Pipe Marking Sleeves can be permanently secured to a pipe using plastic ties. Should a label need to be removed for some reason, just snip the plastic ties and the Pipe Grabber™ Pipe Marking Sleeve can easily be pulled off the pipe.
Pipe Grabber™ Pipe Marking Sleeves are available in the following sizes:
1 in. x 9 in. — Fits pipe diameters 1.0 to 1.5 inches
1.5 in. x 9 in. — Fits pipe diameters 1.5 to 2.3 inches
